June training update

Message from Sensei Pete regarding the gradual return to normal training and private classes:

"Most classes are the same as the last few weeks but you will see 121 on some days, these are private sessions for adults like I did before lock down at the dojo. Some are now booked for four weeks but one is open to be booked each week and I will slowly increase them. They are paid for separately and you will need to contact me direct.

As it stands I will be running them from Radipole park in Weymouth but I may look into a Dorchester venue in the near future.

From next week will start small classes for up to six students, I will probably do a single children's class and a couple of adult or family classes, because of demand and contact rules they will need to be booked in advance. I will be prioritising to those students who cannot train online but have been paying fees throughout this period. If this is you please get in touch to let me know if you are interested.

I will be keeping most zoom classes going and every online class you do counts towards your zoom certificates and future grading attendances so lets keep training!"

Zoom Virtual Training

Sensei Pete will be hosting a Zoom virtual training session on Fri 26 Mar 2020. If it’s successful the plan is to host several a week over the next coming weeks and months. Tomorrow’s sessions will be:

3pm – Adults

4pm – Kids

Please see the Facebook site for more information about joining the Zoom session:

Covid-19: Virtual training

With the government asking all gyms to close and the rules on social distancing our normal training regime has been turned upside down. However, karate training never stops and so Sensei Pete and the other instructors are working on virtual training resources for all WKA members.

More details to follow!

Wessex Karate Academy is following all government and Sport England advice for Coronavirus. As such all classes are on as usual unless otherwise notified.

“… given that being fit and healthy acts as a deterrent to most infections, it’s crucial that members of the public continue to lead active lives throughout this period, whether that’s using a local gym or walking or cycling, where it’s possible to do so…”
