Kobudo is the weapons system of traditional Okinawan martial arts.

Classes are available to students over the age of 14 at the Weymouth dojo, and also over Zoom. Previous martial arts experience is useful though not a necessity.

Weapons we train with

  • Bo – A 6ft tapered wooden staff
  • Sai – The three pronged metal daggers used mainly as a defensive and coshing weapon
  • Nunchaku – A two part rice flail
  • Tekko – Knuckledusters based around horse shoes/stirrups
  • Tonfa – Wooden handled club
  • Roschin & Tinbe – The Roschin is a short fishing spear and the Tinbe is one handed shield traditionally made from a turtle shell.
  • Kama – Hand held sickles
  • Eku – A boat oar or paddle

Zoom Class – Wednesday 6:30pm
