In 2020 the club attained the Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts “mark”.

The organisation believes in the importance of making children and vulnerable adults safe and protecting individuals from abuse. This statement is based on fundamental principles about childhood and children’s rights.

About Carly:
Working within children and Families social care services since 1996. Qualified as a Social Worker in 2002 with over 23 years experience of front line child protection experience. Currently working with Foster and adoptive families as an attachment based Developmental Psychotherapist and therefore maintains HCPC registration and current up to date child protection training. Within Sports, Carly qualified as a Children’s Yoga teacher in 2010. Undertaking Sports England Child Protection Training.
She is a Welfare Officer for a local Karate Academy and mirrors these roles and responsibilities for Puddletown cricket club (PCC). Having undertaken ‘Safe hands’ England Cricket Board (ECB) Welfare Officer training and Children Safeguarding Training under ECB. The role of welfare officer is to be accessible for any needs of children and families and ensure clearances and standards are maintained for children to practice karate in a welcoming and enjoyable environment. Carly participates within Wessex Karate and is an active member and parent of children who attend Wessex Karate Academy.
