Welcome to the website of Wessex Karate Academy (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using this website, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. About our website
This website provides information about our karate club, including classes, training, events, contact details, and club activities.
We aim to keep the information on the website accurate and up to date, but information such as class times, prices and availability may change.
We reserve the right to update or change information on this website without notice.
2. Contact form
Our website includes a contact form that allows you to send an enquiry to the club.
Please provide accurate information when submitting the form. We will use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry and deal with your request.
Please do not use the contact form to send confidential, sensitive or unnecessary personal information.
For information about how we collect and use personal data, please see our Privacy Policy.
3. Ordering clothing and equipment
3.1 Members only
The shop is for current members of Wessex Karate Academy only. Orders placed by anyone who is not a current member (or the parent or guardian of a current junior member) will be rejected.
3.2 How ordering works
Our website lets you place an order for club equipment and clothing (for example uniforms (gi), protective gear and club clothing). No payment is taken online.
Placing an order is a request to buy, and it becomes a confirmed order when we confirm it to you by email, phone or in person.
Please check sizes carefully. Your instructor can help you choose the right size. Where possible, try items on at collection.
3.3 Payment
We do not currently accept online payments through this website.
Payment for equipment and clothing orders is made on collection, using the payment method(s) accepted by the club at the time of collection. Please bring the correct amount where possible.
An order may not be released until payment has been received.
3.4 Collection
Equipment and clothing orders must be collected from the club at an agreed time or during a suitable club session.
If an order is not collected within 30 days of us telling you it is ready, we may cancel it and put the items back into stock.
3.5 Prices and availability
We take care to show correct prices and descriptions, but errors can happen. If we discover an error in the price or availability of your order, we will contact you and you can choose to go ahead at the correct price or cancel.
Items are subject to availability, and we may need to order items in specially, which can take time. We will give you an estimated timescale where we can.
3.6 Equipment Safety
Protective equipment reduces the risk of injury but cannot eliminate it. Please use equipment as instructed and ask your instructor if you are unsure how to fit or use an item. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited.
3.7 Returns and faulty items
If an item you receive is faulty or does not match what you ordered, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can discuss the issue and, where appropriate, arrange a replacement or other suitable remedy.
For unwanted items, returns or exchanges, please contact the club before returning anything. Some items, particularly personalised or specially ordered items, may not be eligible for return unless they are faulty.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under UK law.

8. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
